Engineering Manager (Roosendaal/Malle)

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the Engineering department, which consists of approximately 25 employees, divided over various locations. They are responsible for the design and development of all of ASK Romein’s complex steel structures. The Engineering Manager reports to the General Manager and is responsible for managing the department’s staff. He or she is closely knit with the employees and ensures balance, guidance, and development.

Key tasks:

  • Responsible for the engineering department’s (work) planning;
  • Coordinate the project teams’ activities;
  • Outsourcing work, administrative registration, and handling documents;
  • Managing the employees that report to him/her, for continuous team improvement;
  • Inform the general manager on technical developments, needs, quality, and the department’s occupancy;
  • Analyzing project information and signaling possible risks;
  • Preparing (resource) scheduling and hour budgets;
  • Translating business strategy to tactical and operational actions down to employee level;
  • Monitoring the department’s planning and project’s engineering budgets;
  • Checking and monitoring the produced information’s quality;
  • Making proposals to improve quality, safety, and production efficiency;
  • Providing sufficient internal and/or external engineering capacity for projects;
  • Managing maintenance and development of engineering tools and drawing standards.

Required qualification:

  • University of Applied Sciences or technical university level (preferably engineering or mechanical engineering);
  • Minimally five years of experience in a similar managing position;
  • People manager, team player, driven to make the most of yourself and your team;
  • Affinity and experience with construction, steel construction, offshore, and bridge building;
  • Extensive experience with regard to working in a BIM environment;
  • Working with a hands-on mentality;
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with several engineering software tools, such as Autocad, Revit, Navisworks, Tekla Structures, Scia Engineer, Technosoft, Idea;
  • Knowledge of and experience with technical automation is a plus;
  • Good knowledge of the Dutch, English, and German language;
  • Good analytical skills, making the correct connections, and great in prioritizing;
  • Sincere, commercial, entrepreneurial, and in possession of good communication skills;
  • Cost-conscious.
